The Board of Directors
Amy Heflin - President
Amy is a Christian, a full time homemaker, has a B.S. in Elementary Education, has been a parent for 21 years, and a foster parent for the past 12 years with AGAPE of North Alabama. Once a year, she co-teaches TIPS/MAPPS (foster parent) training classes with the director of AGAPE. Her family is mission-minded toward the foster care system, and work together to show the family’s love to the children who come into their home.
When Tony and I first heard about Isaiah 117 House and the amazing changes they were making to the foster care system, we were inspired. We didn’t talk about it together until several months later, when Tony approached me and said he was ready to start a house like theirs. It had also been on my mind and in my prayers, but I only considered it a dream at that point. When we found out that we had both been praying and dreaming about the same thing, it was as if God was saying, “GO!”
We contacted Isaiah 117 House, and due to the many expansions (praise God!) that they were working on, they wouldn’t be able to even speak to us about starting a house until 2024. The fires were already burning in our hearts and we felt the need to move more quickly. We are so excited and amazed at how God has opened the doors for us to make the house a reality! From the very beginning, when we would mention the idea to someone, the response we received was an excited and hearty, “What can I do to help?!”
We prayed for God to send willing hearts to be our closest helpers in this effort, and they came. We formed our Board of Directors and filed for incorporation in June of 2023. We became a corporation on June 29, 2023. We filed our paperwork to become a 501(c)(3) in August.
As we exercise all of our patience, waiting on the IRS to decide our nonprofit status, we continue to dream about how our community can help our most vulnerable. We have seen the talented minds, hard work, and willing hearts of our community already at work, and we can’t wait to see what God will do!

Beth Green - Fundraising Chair
Hello, I am Beth Green. I am from Pleasantville, Tennessee originally, but I have made Madison, Alabama my home for almost 20 years. I am married to Mark, and we have two children, Aislyn (17) and Kaylan (11).
I graduated from Hickman County High in 1993, got my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Freed Hardeman University in 1997, and in 2002 I got my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle Tennessee State University. I spent 6 years in my hometown school system before working 2 years teaching at Harvest Elementary School. When my oldest was born, I began the adventures of being a Stay-At-Home mom. When she began school, I began my work in the PTA at West Madison Elementary School where I served as the VP of Programs. While there, I and two others were able to create a house system, and our own style of fundraising. I have been the fundraising chair with the PTA for the last 9 years. As my youngest child is leaving elementary school, I will be bringing those fundraising talents to The Foster House Project.
With a passion for God and a love for children, I hope to help create a place of love and hope for those children who need it most. I feel in my heart that everything I have been working on and learning up to this point has led me here, where my talents can be used for the greater good.
Won’t you come help us change lives?
